Waterloo Ends Horicon’s Season in Regional Opener

The Horicon softball team’s postseason journey came to an abrupt close on Tuesday, May 27, as the Lions were defeated by Waterloo Pirates in the opening round of regional play.

Waterloo set the tone early, scoring in the opening inning and continuing to apply pressure throughout the game. Consistent hitting and aggressive baserunning allowed the Pirates to build a commanding lead, while Horicon struggled to slow the momentum.

Despite the challenging circumstances, the Lions continued to compete through all four innings, gaining valuable postseason experience against a high-powered opponent. Waterloo’s offense ultimately proved too much, bringing the game to an early conclusion under the run rule.
