The event was organized by KEYS, the Kewaskum Youth Scholarship Organization. Funds raised through the annual race support scholarships for students attending Kewaskum High School, connecting community participation with educational opportunities.

Since its establishment in 1986, the organization has awarded more than $3.7 million in scholarships to Kewaskum students. The long-running program reflects the organization's commitment to helping young people pursue their educational goals.

The newspaper's front-page report listed the following top three finishers:

  • Jake Elmer — 15:39.10

  • Vitale Oliva — 17:14.85

  • Andy Ruddloff — 17:19.62

Members of KEYS and volunteers also gathered for a group photo following the Oct. 11 event. Their participation helped make the annual fundraiser possible.

The race is one example of how local organizations can bring residents together while raising funds for educational support. For KEYS, the event contributes to a scholarship program with a history spanning four decades.
