With just eight available players—five seniors, one junior, and two freshmen—the Lions went a perfect 4–0 in matches and 8–1 in sets, showcasing resilience, chemistry, and energy throughout the day. Lomira’s ability to stay composed and competitive against a full slate of opponents stood out as one of the tournament’s defining storylines.
Head coach Lauren Nourse praised her team’s effort and mentality following the event.
“We went 4–0 matches (8–1 in sets) this weekend with just eight players, and they gave everything they had and left it all out on the court for each other,” Nourse said. “What stood out the most was their mindset with staying positive, having fun, and celebrating the small victories in each play.”
The Lions relied on strong communication, steady serve receive, and balanced contributions across the lineup to maintain momentum from match to match. The team’s enthusiasm and support for one another were evident, particularly as the day wore on and fatigue set in.
