On January 1, district officials officially opened Little Lions Child Care, a full-day daycare center housed in the former St. Theresa’s School building in the village of Theresa. The center is intended to provide accessible, reliable care for children of district staff and local families, addressing a long-standing shortage of child care options in the area.
District leaders say the project was driven by both staffing challenges and community feedback. With limited daycare availability across Dodge and Fond du Lac counties, many families had struggled to find affordable care close to home. The new center is expected to help attract and retain educators and staff while also easing daily logistics for parents who work in or near the district.
Little Lions Child Care offers age-appropriate programming focused on early childhood development, social skills, and school readiness. The facility includes updated classrooms, secure play areas, and a structured daily schedule designed to support young learners in a safe environment.
School officials emphasized that the daycare is more than just a convenience—it represents an investment in the long-term strength of the Lomira community. By supporting families and young children, district leaders hope to create a stronger foundation for student success well before kindergarten.
Enrollment for Little Lions Child Care opened alongside the facility, with district administrators noting strong early interest from families throughout the Lomira area.
