The Mayville cross country program played host to one of the area’s premier meets on Friday, Sept. 12, welcoming 16 Division 2 and Division 3 programs for the 56th annual Mike Hurlburt Invitational at the Mayville Golf Course.

The long-running invitational once again brought together a deep and competitive field, giving athletes an opportunity to test themselves on a challenging course while providing fans a full afternoon of high-level racing. Teams from across the region competed in varsity and junior varsity races, making the meet a key early-season benchmark.

Mayville runners took advantage of the home-course setting, turning in solid performances while competing against strong opposition. The Cardinals emphasized pack running and race execution, using the invitational as an opportunity to measure progress and identify areas to sharpen as the season moves forward.
