In his report, Mayor Boelk explained that over the past several weeks the city has received updated revenue and expenditure figures from state sources and local assessments. These numbers are being carefully reviewed as city staff and elected officials continue working through the budgeting process.
The mayor emphasized that budgeting remains a balancing act, as the city works to maintain essential services while managing rising costs and long-term financial responsibilities. Public safety, infrastructure maintenance, and core municipal operations continue to be key priorities as discussions move forward.
Mayor Boelk also highlighted the importance of transparency and communication throughout the budget process. He encouraged residents to stay informed and to attend upcoming meetings where budget items will be discussed by the Mayville Common Council.
“As we refine the 2026 budget, our goal is to remain fiscally responsible while continuing to invest in the services and infrastructure our community relies on,” Boelk said.
Further updates will be shared as the budget process continues, with final approval expected later this year following public discussion and council review.
