Director of Public Works Nick Roskopf reported on the ongoing cleaning of Well 2, a project initiated to address water quality concerns and maintain system performance. Roskopf explained that the cleaning process is intended to remove mineral buildup and improve well efficiency, a routine but important step in extending the lifespan of municipal infrastructure.
At the previous village board meeting, officials authorized the cleaning after reviewing test results and maintenance recommendations. The work includes specialized treatment to clear deposits that can accumulate over time and affect water flow and quality.
Roskopf noted that the project is progressing as planned and that the well has been taken offline temporarily to complete the work safely. Once cleaning is finished, follow-up testing will be conducted to ensure the well meets all regulatory standards before returning it to service.
Village officials emphasized that Lomira’s drinking water remains safe and in compliance during the maintenance period, with other wells meeting system demand. The board thanked the public works department for keeping residents informed and for taking proactive steps to maintain the village’s water system.
Additional updates will be provided as the cleaning is completed and test results are finalized.
