A Lomira man died following a hunting-related incident in the Town of Oakfield, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said that at approximately 8:28 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call from the area of Stumpf Road and Wild Goose Road. Deputies and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene in response to the report.

Upon arrival, responders located an adult male hunter from Lomira who was unresponsive. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident occurred during the Wisconsin firearm deer hunting season. Authorities stated that there is no indication of foul play at this time, and the incident remains under investigation. Additional details have not been released pending notification of family members.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to the family and reminded hunters to prioritize safety, including wearing blaze orange, maintaining awareness of surroundings, and following all hunting regulations.
