On Oct. 25, the Lions earned a historic third consecutive berth to the WIAA Division 3 State Cross Country Meet, finishing runner-up at a highly competitive sectional hosted by Sheboygan Lutheran. Lomira scored 89 points, placing second behind top-ranked Kohler and punching its ticket to state in one of the toughest sectionals in Wisconsin.
The field featured five teams ranked in the top 20 of the Wisconsin Cross Country Association Coaches Poll, underscoring the magnitude of Lomira’s accomplishment. Entering the meet ranked seventh in the state, the Lions proved they belonged among the elite by delivering composed, disciplined performances across the lineup.
Lomira’s strength came through pack running and consistency, as the Lions stayed within striking distance throughout the race and separated themselves from the rest of the field when it mattered most. Competing against some of the state’s best programs, the team showed poise, toughness, and championship-level focus.
