Lomira came out aggressive from the opening tip, setting the tone with attacking offense and active defense. The Lions carried a 34–25 halftime lead, weathering a Mayville run late in the first half before reasserting control in the locker room.
“We came out attacking and then handled a run in the past two games before halftime,” said Lomira head coach Liz Cook. “The girls did a really good job of making adjustments on defense, and we held teams to lower points in the second half than in the first half.”
Those adjustments were evident after the break. Lomira tightened defensively, limiting Mayville’s scoring chances while pushing the pace offensively. The Lions outscored the Cardinals by a wide margin in the second half, turning a competitive game into a comfortable road win.
Balanced scoring and disciplined execution fueled Lomira’s surge, as the Lions consistently found quality looks and capitalized in transition. Defensively, Lomira contested shots, closed passing lanes, and controlled the glass to prevent Mayville from generating momentum.
Final Score
Lomira 72, Mayville 43
