The $1,000 scholarship was presented to senior Ella Herrman, who plans to study Media Production at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul. Foundation leaders said Herrman was selected for her academic dedication, involvement in school activities, and clear vision for her future studies.

Established to support Horicon students and school programs, the Horicon Marshmen Foundation created the scholarship to help graduates pursue postsecondary education while strengthening ties between alumni, students, and the broader community. Foundation representatives said launching the scholarship program has been a long-term goal and reflects growing community support.

“This award represents an investment in our students and their futures,” foundation leaders said. “Ella exemplifies the qualities we hope to encourage—commitment, creativity, and a desire to make a positive impact.”

Herrman expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the scholarship will help ease the financial transition to college while allowing her to focus on developing skills in media and storytelling.

Foundation officials said plans are already underway to continue the scholarship program in future years, with hopes of expanding opportunities for additional students as funding allows.
