Horicon Battles Early, Falls to Oakfield in Straight Sets

Despite entering the match with high energy and confidence, the Marshladies were unable to sustain momentum against Oakfield’s consistent play. Oakfield took control in the opening set and maintained pressure throughout the night, limiting Horicon’s ability to string together long runs.

Horicon showed improvement in the second set, battling point-for-point and pushing Oakfield before ultimately falling short. The Marshladies continued to compete in the third set, but Oakfield closed the door with strong serving and solid defense.

“Our excitement and motivation to win was at a very high level prior to the match,” the Horicon coaching staff noted, pointing to effort and attitude as positives despite the outcome.
