According to information published by the Kewaskum Statesman, investigators from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office assisted Madison police detectives in executing a search warrant on Friday, Aug. 14, at a residence on W7000 County Road Q. The warrant was connected to an investigation involving Benjamin Larson, who was being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail.
Investigators reportedly found a basement area containing numerous objects associated with historical murder cases and serial killers. Among the items described were binders referencing Ed Gein, material said to have been taken from Gein’s grave, ammunition and other memorabilia. A grave rubbing referencing Ed Gein was also reportedly found near the basement entrance.
Authorities also documented additional items inside the basement during the search. The discoveries have added another dimension to an investigation that initially centered on an alleged stalking complaint.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities have not indicated that the memorabilia alone establishes a connection between Larson and the crimes referenced by the items.
