Campbellsport Couple Marks Seven Decades Together With Family and Friends

The couple was married Sept. 11, 1956, at Fort Polk Army Base in Louisiana. Seven decades later, family and friends gathered to recognize the anniversary and celebrate the life they have built together.

Following their marriage, the Schwartzes eventually made their way to Campbellsport, where they established roots and became part of the local community. Their years together have included careers, family, community connections and countless memories.

The couple's story began in Louisiana before Wisconsin became their longtime home. Over the years, both Kenny and Doris became familiar faces in the Campbellsport area.

Kenny worked for many years in the local business community, including a 38-year career before retiring. Doris also spent years working at St. Joseph Convent before eventually retiring. Both retired in 1996.

Family has remained an important part of their lives throughout their marriage. Their 70th anniversary celebration offered an opportunity for relatives and friends to look back on the years they have shared while also recognizing the significance of reaching such a rare milestone.

A celebration was held Sept. 5, where the couple was surrounded by loved ones. A special anniversary cake and photographs helped mark the occasion.

For Kenny and Doris, the anniversary represents much more than a number. It reflects seven decades of partnership and a shared connection to the Campbellsport community.

As they celebrate 70 years together, the couple's story stands as a reminder of the family history and longtime community relationships that help shape small Wisconsin towns.
